The House

The almóada is a quirky and secretly secluded 4-bedroom Boutique Home (max. 8 guests, aged 12+) which has flourished from its XIX century rammed-earth walls, right at the heart of the purest Algarve. This hidden and serene countryside with the scents of the ocean - where the rugged shapes of the "Barrocal" hold hands with the picturesque little town of São Brás de Alportel (1.5km) - is the faithful guardian of dazzling beaches kissed by the enchanting Ria Formosa.

Our sustainable farmhouse is available on an exclusive basis, and guests can choose between the privacy of self-catering and the luxury of the several in-house services and experiences that we have available, including our Flavors, Wine & Art interpretative session, that reveals the remotest flavors of Portugal, and almóadas’ best-kept secret: our “speakeasy” Homage-Club!

Holiday breaks for families and friends, celebration events, lovers’ escapism, solo travellers or retreats, it’s all possible thanks to our flexible booking policy and an “on-hand” Concierge that will happily fulfill your wishes and needs throughout your stay!

For more than 100 years, father and son lived and farmed peacefully at the small farmstead. Thereafter, the country-house remained neglected, languishing in its own memories for almost a decade, wrapped by the peaceful erosion of time. Our quiet arrival was gifted with timeless aesthetics such as the peculiar and emotional architecture of century-old walls, terracotta tiles and livestock barns, embraced by the generosity of native and sustainable gardens… all fondly preserved by us.

At almóada time is in no hurry, and the ambience feeds the desire to foster human relations and celebrate life! Every moment is a symbiosis of old and future memories, garnished by an exquisite collection of brimming and storytelling vintages. The beauty of imperfection expands the feelings of longevity in an intimate and soothing atmosphere, framed by the chants of birds and stone-spout waterfalls. The flora and the old walls seamlessly connected, evidence how history has been revitalized in the form of shady pergolas for an "al fresco" lifestyle, and a “barefoot-luxury” sunbathing area, incorporating a heatable plunge-pool and an Honesty-bar.
